The Vision
From 1964–2011 Millard (Preach) McGuire was Pastor of West Side Free Will Baptist Church. During the time of his leadership the church grew to a point that a new and bigger facility was needed. In 2005, the Lord shared a vision with Preach of the facility that our church has today. The vision also included a school where children could feel free to worship the Lord, read their Bible, memorize God’s Word, and attain a high-quality education.
In 2016, with the wisdom and guidance of Pastor Len Blanchard, our congregation voted to open West Side Christian Academy for Kindergarten through 12th Grade. At West Side, we seek to fulfill the Lord’s direction in His Word to ‘train up a child in the way they shall go and when they are old, they will not depart from it.
 In 2017, with the Lord's guidance, Roger McDougal left public school to pursue his calling to be the first school administrator at WSCA. He lead the school successfully for 5 years before stepping away to be the lead Pastor at West Side Free Will Baptist. Throughout the years, he continues to see kids succeed academically and excel in their Christian walk. He looks forward to supporting any new admin and staff that may enter the doors of WSCA.
Statement of Faith
Belief 01
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
Belief 02
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Belief 03
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Belief 04
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We are saved by God’s grace through faith, not by our works of righteousness.
Belief 05
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
Belief 06
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
Belief 07
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Belief 08
We believe that Marriage is between one Man (male gender at birth) and one Woman (female gender at birth).
